Charges

On September 5-6, 2025, Ryan Henry Hoyle, 44, of Buladean/Spruce Pine in Mitchell County, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with three counts of ind*cent liberties with a minor (Class F felony). Spruce Pine Police filed two counts; Mitchell County Detective Austin Duncan added the third. Hoyle was the victim’s softball coach. He allegedly gr*omed and sexually assaulted the then-13-year-old girl (publicly identified in advocacy as Mia). Total bond was set at $150,000, with an initial court date of September 23, 2025.
